NOMINON
040930 LIVE REPORT
ORTO BAR, LJUBLJANA, SLOVENIA
After Dickless Tracy it was time for Nominon from
Sweden. Quartet presented us their version of old-school
death metal. They cudgel over Christianity in the
vein of Incantation, Immolation etc, but musicalwise
they're closer to old heroes of swedish death metal.
They presented us pretty lively show, but the liveliness
was coming mostly from the drummer, who's been headbanging
along playing blast-beats. Otherwise he combined Unleashed-a-like
rythms with Monstrosity technique. The vocals were
something of average, with not so good growls and
the melodies were some kind of tipical, easy to foresee.
Anyway, it was easy to listen to the band as the sound
was very clear and you could hear what they were playing.
Just, it was to predictable, the bass player was to
static and you could notice the lack of charisma in
singers performance. Pity, because with some changes
in their performance they could bring some freshness
in death metal. Although they're really nice guys,
this performance was not too impresive.
